The album fuses her strong blues, soul and gospel influences into an original, contemporary, groundbreaking sound. Each song has it's own unique style and story, and demonstrates her versatility and range as a vocal artist and writer.

Amanda touches on subjects of drug addiction, world violence, self-identity, love of music and enjoying life. She sings about her life and experiences with maturity, depth and soul.
Recently Amanda has been back in the studio recording her new single “The Queen’. This fun track co-written with Amanda’s husband Luke Bourne, is really an introduction to this up and coming artist. Her lyrics both witty and catchy profess the comments of a girl who doesn’t stumble on her words and declares to the world “I’m not here to be a princess, I’m here to be the Queen”.
Recently Amanda has taken this lyric line and printed it on t-shirts available in her merchandise range.

Amanda shot her Music Video for 'ADDICTIONS' in August 2006, directed by her brother, award-winning cinematographer, Denson Baker ACS. The music video won 3rd place at the “Sunscreen” Independent Music video festival and won Gold at the ACS award’s for its cinematography. Denson Baker was also behind the creation, photography & design of Amanda’s stunning artwork on her debut alum ‘Superstitious Woman’.

Playing live is the highlight for Amanda, whether it being playing an intimate acoustic venue or a powerhouse performance with her nine-piece band.

In Oct 2006 Amanda and her band were chosen by AIR (Australian Recording Association) to play a showcase performance at ‘The Big Sound Music Conference’ in Queensland. Amanda and her band have been playing solidly for two years, playing in Sydney’s premier live venues, these include sell-out performances at the Basement and performing at Peats Ridge Festival last year.

Individual tracks from SUPERSTITIOUS WOMAN have been featured on several Australian and international compilation albums including the JAVA music compilation (L.A.), Jaxter Song Writing Awards compilation, the Sounds Like Café compilation (Australia), Sonicbids Mixtape and Afrikool, Popkomm Compilation (Germany).
